Yesterday, I unwillingly went to the New Moon premiere. Right as the movie was about to end my friend runs up to the screen and screams ” I’m really happy for you New Moon and I’m gonna let you finish but Harry Potter was the best movie of all time” and then ran through the emergency exit. While researching about Riot Grrrl for my Gay and Lesbian Performance final project, I stumbled across some awesome information about the first Ladyfest in August of 2000 raising money for a rape crisis charity. When I went to document this, it came out like this:
“The first Ladyfest raised over $30,000 for a local rapist charity.”
This would have been hard to explain.
